Encouragement

Generally, we think of encouragement as something we either give to others or receive from them.

However, in the “Building Self-Esteem” model we also learn a very important skill of how to give encouragement to ourselves. This improves our ability and willingness to give encouragement to others.

Giving and hearing encouraging words adds a lot more positivity and happiness to our lives.

Here are some examples. Find one which “speaks” to you and start practicing saying it to yourself a few times everyday. Feel free to add a few of your own to our list and let us know how it goes!

I’m really proud of you.

Well done for… (learning, exercising, having self-discipline…) today!

I’m so happy to see you.

I really believe in you.

I’m so happy you are in my life.

You are such a wonderful person!

You are a real treasure.

I always knew you could do it!

I believe in you.

I wish you the best day ever!!!!!

The world is a better place having you in it.

You have so much to offer the world.

You mean so much to me.

I love having you around.

You can do it

Go for it!

Keep on trying!

Don’t give up hope!

Thank you for your work.
I am sufering with my mom...she is ini nursing home, being given too much slt, she is swelling, and sister has rights, so no one will listn to me about the salt.In October i was allowed to bring the natural, fresh foods, potein, and fiber..etc. But now, she is moved and I cannot help...not even with hemroid, which people are not helping her with...oh, I CAN HAVE PEACE, Rabbi...but it hurts and I suffer WITH her inside of myself....as if done to ME. I cannot afford a course, now, and I do pray and read, but the situation only has worsened, and I am trying to believe for G-d's best for mom...she does not deserve this...and ALL I HAVE tried to prevent for so long has "FALLEN" upon us. No positive attitude that I can glean can make this okay...except that it is G-d's will...but surely honoring one's parent should have SOME GOOD promise applied...because G-d said so. I can see nno help in site, rabi...I feel so bad that I cannot DO anything to help my poor, dear mom..G-d be with you and all...thank you for your words.
